Glitch art

Glitch art is the practice of using digital or analog errors for aesthetic purposes by either corrupting digital data or physically manipulating electronic devices.
No trends list would be complete without some form of retro design making its comeback. In the case of glitch art, it’s retro gone wrong. Those moments when crinkled film or a slow dial-up connection led to a distorted, if unintentionally striking, image.
Glitches are significant in our modern times when computers are so pervasive. We fear the machines taking over, but we also don’t know what we’d do without them. Hence, the breakdown of technology makes for appealing subject matter both as an idea and in its design execution, where it can draw the viewer’s eye to those parts of the site that are warped, double exposed and glitchy. It’s a strange, futuristic time we live in, and no one is quite sure where it is all heading. Glitch art amplifies this feeling of disorientation by giving websites a distinctly psychedelic look.
Glitch filtering is the process of removing unwanted pulses from a digital input signal that is usually high or low. Glitches frequently occur on lines carrying signals from sources such as RF receivers. Electrical or in some cases even mechanical interference can trigger an unwanted glitch pulse from the receiver.
A glitch is a sudden, temporary disruption of technology or equipment, an often unwelcome malfunction. Art, on the other hand, is the visual expression of a creative mind, whose production is ideally appreciated by its viewers. A glitch typically arises as a result of a mistranslation in the transmission of data. This error might be most famously recognized by highly saturated vertical rainbow stripes, white noise on an image, or pixelated, distorted video with its audio out of sync.
Advantages

Communication – with help of information technologies the instant messaging, emails, voice and video calls becomes quicker, cheaper and much efficient. Globalization and cultural gap – by implementing information systems we can bring down the linguistic, geographical and some cultural boundaries.
Small visual defects, known as glitches, are a common phenomena in our increasingly technology-reliant world. They generally occur as a result of a hardware problem or data corruption, but you’ll find similar effects all over the media in movies, TV shows, music videos, and advertising.
But you don’t need to data mosh your video files anymore. There now exists an entire subgenre of apps designed to distort your photos, videos, and GIFs. Many of them even work in real-time.
